What is MMC and how does it work?
MMC is an initiative that was started by an Emergency Medicine Physician in 2020, who established the first virtual mentorship community for medical trainees using Slack, a platform for open discussions and forums. He wanted to connect premeds, medical students, residents, and faculty, providing a safe space to share their experiences and tips to achieving their career goals. There are no barriers or costs associated with joining and anyone can become part of the community. Today, MMC has become a coast-to-coast initiative, with 800+ members from across the country.
To create a networking platform for mentors to provide accessible and high value advice to all trainees in medicine.
To reach those in communities without access to mentorship and provide a platform that improves representation in the medical school admission process.
